  • Google Drive (Read-Only): We use the drive.readonly scope to access the specific Google Drive folder URL provided by you, allowing the app to list files for search purposes.
  • Google Sheets (Standard/Full Access): Due to the technical limitations of Google Apps Script (specifically the requirement of the SpreadsheetApp.openById() method), our application is required to request the standard Google Sheets scope (auth/spreadsheets). Please Note: Although the Google authorization screen may state that the app can “edit, create, and delete” spreadsheets, our application’s code is strictly written to perform read-only operations. We do not have any functionality to modify your files.
  • User Info (Email): We access your email address solely to verify your identity and manage user licensing/access control within your organization.

3. How We Use Your Data The data accessed from your Google account is used strictly for the following functional purposes:

  • Search Functionality: To scan the contents of the Google Drive folder you provide and find relevant data matching your search keywords.
  • Data Preview: To display a secure, read-only preview of the search results within the application interface.
  • Access Verification: To confirm that you have the necessary permissions to view the files you are searching.
  • Our Commitment to Data Protection: Despite the required API scopes, we strictly adhere to a Read-Only operational policy. The application does not write, modify, delete, or overwrite any data in your Google Drive or Sheets. We do not transfer, sell, or share your data with any third parties. The application processes data in real-time and does not store your spreadsheet content on any external servers or databases.

4. Limited Use Policy BI Smart Search’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Data Security We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data against unauthorized access. Since the application runs directly within the secure Google Workspace environment, it benefits from Google’s robust security infrastructure. Your data remains in your Google Drive; we only fetch it temporarily to display search results on your screen.
